Arbroath FC Observes Minute’s Silence Following Tragic Death of Young Minnie Merriman

Minnie Merriman was found deceased after emergency services responded to the Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath shortly after midnight on Monday.

Her father, Christopher Rice, 35, of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, made no plea during a private hearing at Forfar Sheriff Court on Wednesday and remains in custody on remand.

Police Scotland confirmed that no additional suspects are being sought in relation to Minnie’s death, and other family members who were camping nearby are receiving support from specialist officers.

In a heartfelt statement, Minnie’s family expressed their devastation, describing their beloved daughter as “absolutely incredible, beautiful and brave,” paying tribute to her as “Minnie Moo.”

“Our family asks that our privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.”
