Arman Tsarukyan maintained his flawless wrestling streak with a commanding shutout victory over Tony Ferguson during the RAF 10 co-main event.
Tsarukyan quickly asserted his dominance, utilizing two powerful slams to secure eight points and sealing a technical fall victory with a final score of 10-0. Following the bout, Tsarukyan engaged in a tense face-off with Colby Covington, whom he is slated to fight in the RAF 12 main event on July 18 in Milwaukee.
“Feeling great. Thank you for coming,” Tsarukyan told the crowd. “Thank you for the support. Thank you to Tony Ferguson.”
Addressing his upcoming opponent, Tsarukyan added, “[Colby Covington] is going to be easier than Tony Ferguson. This is the easiest money. I’m going to go 10-0 in the first round. Be in shape; after the match, there will be no excuses.”
Covington remained unfazed by the confidence, vowing to halt Tsarukyan’s momentum when they collide in four weeks.
“No more cupcake matchups,” Covington declared. “I’m going to break him on this mat.”
The match began with Tsarukyan thwarting an inside trip attempt from Ferguson, quickly transitioning into a takedown. Moments later, Tsarukyan secured a deep body lock, hoisting Ferguson into the air and slamming him back to the mat to earn four points.
Ferguson attempted to rally with a single-leg takedown, but Tsarukyan successfully defended the attack as the contest transitioned into the second period.
Tsarukyan wasted no time attacking again, once more locking onto Ferguson’s body. After a brief struggle, he lifted Ferguson and drove him crashing down, scoring another four points to reach a 10-0 lead and end the match.
Tsarukyan now prepares for his most challenging test to date against All-American Colby Covington, who currently holds a 2-0 RAF record with victories over Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold.
