Arsenal are preparing to green-light the permanent departure of midfielder Fabio Vieira to Hamburg this summer.
The 26-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan with the German side, where he played a key creative role and contributed 13 goals across all competitions.
Hamburg chose not to activate the £22m purchase option in the loan agreement and have since been in ongoing talks with Arsenal to bring the price down.
Initially, the Gunners were unwilling to reduce their asking price for the Portuguese playmaker, but they have now softened their stance and are prepared to accept a fee in the region of £14m.
Vieira has already reached an agreement on reduced personal terms with the Bundesliga club, and a permanent move now appears close to completion for the former Porto midfielder.
His exit could also pave the way for further outgoings before the window closes. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are both expected to be moved on in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Ethan Nwaneri could be allowed to depart on a season-long loan, though Arsenal have not ruled out sanctioning a permanent transfer for the academy product.
Borussia Dortmund and Fulham are reportedly among the clubs closely monitoring his situation.
