Arsenal are considering a summer signing of Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to The Telegraph.
The club is keen to secure a new centre‑back for the upcoming window after William Saliba suffered a back injury.
Although Saliba will not undergo surgery, he will remain sidelined for several months.
Therefore, Arsenal are looking for an experienced centre‑back to provide cover, with Konsa identified as the primary target.
Arsenal had previously valued Konsa at roughly £40 million, a figure well below Villa’s £60 million asking price.
The league leaders are expected to make a renewed bid and remain hopeful of sealing the deal.
Villa would prefer a top‑class replacement should they decide to part with Konsa, yet the defender has signaled his willingness to move to Arsenal.
Arsenal view Konsa as a versatile option, capable of playing as a right‑back, a role he fulfilled for England at the World Cup.
