The fitness of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka has been a topic of extensive discussion during this World Cup.
Both players are vital for their national teams and clubs, having given their all physically.
Rice has been coping with a hamstring problem and received an injection toward the end of last year to address it.
The 27-year-old also fell ill during the tournament and was taken off at halftime in England’s 2-1 quarter-final victory over Norway.
Arsenal contested 63 matches across all competitions last season, reaching the Champions League final and securing the league championship.
Rice featured in 55 of those games, and along with his Arsenal teammates, joined the England setup after a brief recovery period.
It remains to be determined how much recovery time Rice requires before rejoining the Arsenal squad for pre-season.
The midfielder is scheduled to receive the mandatory 21-day holiday once the World Cup concludes.
Saka faces a comparable situation, with rest being the most effective remedy for his fitness concerns.
The winger has been nursing an Achilles injury since March and acknowledged that participating in the tournament was a calculated risk.
England manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the winger is now pain-free, though he continues to manage his playing time, leaving the substitute bench during England’s semi-final loss to Argentina.
In addition to last season’s Achilles issue and a hamstring problem that sidelined him, Saka hopes a proper break will help him regain full fitness.
