After two dominant victories to start their 2026 NBA Summer League campaign, the Golden State Warriors faced the Miami Heat on Monday. Having played the San Antonio Spurs the previous night, Golden State rested four key contributors: Yaxel Lendeborg, LJ Cryer, Malevy Leons and Will Richard.
The absence of those starters created opportunities for other roster members, and three familiar faces stepped up. Deivon Smith, who posted 12 points against San Antonio, moved into the starting lineup and recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and one steal. Chance McMillian followed a 12‑point effort versus the Spurs with another solid performance of 14 points against Miami.
Lachlan Olbrich was the standout for Golden State, delivering a dominant bench performance of 21 points on perfect 7‑for‑7 shooting, plus six rebounds, one assist and one steal. He has impressed across three summer‑league games, averaging 13.3 points, five rebounds and three assists off the bench after concluding the 2025‑26 NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. Sustained play could earn him a standard contract with Golden State or another franchise.
The Warriors enter the league phase with a 2‑1 record and will next face the Dallas Mavericks on July 9.
