Ayesha Curry will headline Roku’s holiday romantic comedy, “Second Chance Holiday,” premiering November 5, the platform announced Tuesday. The film marks Curry’s first leading role in a feature film.
Roku revealed the project with a trailer released on social media. Although the streamer initially announced the movie in July—identifying Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, as its lead—the trailer and premiere date were only made available this week.
Matthew Daddario, brother of actress Alexandra Daddario, will star opposite Curry.
“It’s a privilege to join the cast and crew of ‘Second Chance Holiday,’” Curry said in a statement released in July. “Holiday rom-coms have a special magic—they transport you to warm, charming worlds where anything feels possible. I immediately connected with Chelsey, a fun and heartfelt character, and I hope audiences embrace her when the film arrives this holiday season.”
In “Second Chance Holiday,” Curry plays a dating expert determined to break a pattern of holiday-season breakups. When she reunites with her high school crush—portrayed by Daddario—she begins to wonder whether her streak of bad luck is the universe guiding her back to her first love.
Curry has been married to four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry for 15 years, and the couple has four children. Stephen reacted to the trailer on X, describing Ayesha as his “leading lady.”
My Leading Lady. I get to see the work behind the scenes and now the world gets to see you shine and this is just the beginning…

Despite never previously headlining a feature film, Curry has spent years in front of the camera.
Her most recent credit is the animated film “GOAT,” produced by and starring her husband. She has also appeared in Disney’s “Hannah Montana” and “Good Luck Charlie,” as well as HBO’s “Ballers.”
“Second Chance Holiday” will stream on Roku, marking Curry’s first holiday-film leading role.
