B2K is set to unveil its first new album in over twenty years next month. The R&B‑pop boy band had released three full‑length records within roughly a year before disbanding after a brief but chart‑successful stint.
The members have recently reunited and announced a forthcoming album titled Eclipse, scheduled for release on September 25. To date, the only single from the project is “Mileage,” which this week entered a U.S. radio chart, marking B2K’s first radio‑chart appearance in twenty‑plus years.
B2K Re‑enters a Billboard Radio Chart After Two Decades
“Mileage” opens at number 38 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip‑Hop Airplay chart, which measures the most‑played tracks on mainstream R&B and hip‑hop radio stations nationwide. This debut represents B2K’s first appearance on that chart in over twenty years.
B2K Records Its Seventh Chart Appearance
“Mileage” secures B2K’s seventh entry on the Mainstream R&B/Hip‑Hop Airplay chart, marking the group’s first charting song since “Bada Boom” featuring Fabolous, released in January 2004.
That peak was only number 33. Currently, “Mileage” is B2K’s sole one‑week chart entry and its lowest‑peaking release, sitting five spots below “Bada Boom,” though the track is still early in its run.
B2K’s Two Top‑10 Entries
B2K has two top‑10 songs on the Mainstream R&B/Hip‑Hop Airplay chart. Their signature track “Bump, Bump, Bump” featuring P. Diddy topped the chart at number 1 for four weeks starting in January 2003. The year before, “Gots Ta Be” entered the chart in April and rose to a peak position of number 7 by June.
B2K Accounts for One of This Week’s Two Chart Debuts
B2K claims one of only two new entries on this week’s 40‑position Mainstream R&B/Hip‑Hop Airplay chart; the other debut is Cardi B’s “AH HA,” which enters at number 40, just below “Mileage.” This marks Cardi B’s thirty‑seventh appearance on the chart, as her latest single joins numerous other Billboard tallies.
Omarion, a B2K Member, Charts Solo on a Billboard List
While B2K re‑enters the charts, group member Omarion also appears on a separate chart as a solo artist. His single “The One” has slipped eight places to number 28 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, after reaching a peak of number 12 earlier this month. That peak gave Omarion his highest‑charting solo effort to date and placed him among just two artists to break into the top‑20 on that list.
