Banijay Entertainment and Redbird IMI‑owned All3Media have finalized an $8 billion merger, forming what they call the world’s largest independent production company.
Although Banijay originates from Paris, the merged entity, to be named Banijay Entertainment, will operate from London — All3Media’s base — providing a significant boost to the United Kingdom’s creative industry. The company will be equally owned by Banijay Group and RedBird IMI, each holding a 50 % stake, and will be consolidated under Banijay Group.
Jeff Zucker will assume the role of Chairman, Marco Bassetti will serve as Chief Executive Officer, and Jane Turton will act as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
The merger unites two strong television producers: Banijay, creator of series such as “Big Brother” and “Peaky Blinders,” and All3Media, known for hits like “The Traitors.” The combined company will operate in 25 territories and maintain one of the industry’s largest content libraries, comprising over 265,000 hours of programming.
The company projects that, on a combined basis, the new Banijay Entertainment will generate more than €4.3 billion (approximately $4.9 billion) in revenue and over $0.8 billion in adjusted EBITDA in 2025, with anticipated cost synergies of roughly $57 million realized within the first year after closing.
Zucker said, “The completion of this merger heralds a new era in global entertainment and establishes a leading independent player in the category.” He added, “With Marco and Jane at the helm, we have the finest leadership team anywhere, and I look forward to watching the company flourish. This also represents a milestone for RedBird IMI, now in its third year, as it assumes a prominent role on the global entertainment stage.”
