The final round of the regular Betfred Super League season has arrived, with major honours and play-off implications still firmly in play.

A trophy awaits one side, final standings remain unsettled, and several clubs are pushing hard for a home fixture in the post-season.

League Leaders’ Shield: Wigan’s to lose

The race for the League Leaders’ Shield will be settled on the final day of the regular season, with everything still to play for.

Wigan Warriors’ commanding 40-8 victory at Leeds Rhinos in their top-of-the-table showdown has left Matt Peet’s side in control of their own destiny.

Oli Partington has suggested that the club already has “one hand” on the trophy that would complete a domestic double.

However, they still require one more victory when they face Catalans Dragons on Friday to officially lift the Shield.

A win in that match seals the trophy.

Should they lose, Leeds Rhinos would claim the League Leaders’ Shield for the first time since 2015 by defeating Hull FC.

If both clubs win, or if both lose, the Shield remains at Wigan.

The trophy will be presented on Friday evening regardless of the outcome.

Play-off positions: Battling for a home play-off spot

Finishing third or fourth at the end of the regular season guarantees a home tie in the play-offs.

The third-placed side will host the sixth-placed team, while fourth takes on fifth for a place in the semi-finals.

Warrington, currently sitting third, welcome in-form Toulouse Olympique, who are determined to claim a win that could lift them above their French rivals Catalans into eighth position.

A victory for Warrington over Sylvian Houles’ side would lock in third place.

However, fourth-placed Wakefield Trinity remain in contention to overtake the Wolves, aiming for their highest finish of the Super League era.

To achieve that, they would need to win their challenging fixture at Leigh Leopards, who trail by just two points in fifth, while also seeing Warrington slip up.

A sizeable win for Leigh would lift them into fourth and push Wakefield down to fifth.

If Leigh lose and sixth-placed Hull KR defeat St Helens, the defending champions could climb from sixth to fifth.
