PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto‑Zardari pledged on Friday to act as the voice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) both within the federal government and on the international stage, emphasizing the need to bridge the divide between the capital and the region’s residents.
Addressing a rally, he noted that AJK has experienced both prosperous and difficult periods, adding that the current conditions are unlike any he has witnessed before.
He described the prevailing situation as a critical test for the AJK administration, Pakistan as a whole, and all political parties involved.
According to him, the primary duty of a politician is to represent the people in the Centre and at international forums, yet many are not fulfilling this responsibility. He emphasized that leaders must serve as a bridge between AJK’s populace and the central government—a role he said is currently missing.
He further observed that governance challenges are not unique to AJK; Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit‑Baltistan face similar difficulties.
Should the people of AJK grant him a mandate, Bilawal promised to be their voice in Islamabad and globally, affirming that every issue can be resolved through political and peaceful means.
