- Bitmine’s Ethereum holdings now total approximately 5.78 million ETH, representing roughly 4.8 % of the cryptocurrency’s circulating supply of 120.68 million.
- The firm has invested $19.44 billion in Ethereum, yet its portfolio still reflects an unrealized loss of about $8.72 billion.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), a digital asset treasury firm focused on Ethereum, stands in contrast to Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the world’s leading Bitcoin accumulator. While the Michael Saylor‑co‑founded company has paused Bitcoin purchases for four consecutive weeks, BMNR, led by Thomas “Tom” Lee, remains steadfast in its pursuit of maintaining the title of the world’s largest Ethereum holder.
Bitmine’s Latest Ethereum Purchase
On Monday, Bitmine announced the acquisition of 7,430.00 ETH during the preceding week. According to Blockzeit’s Bitmine Ethereum Purchase Tracker, the company secured the tokens for a total of $13.8 million, averaging roughly $1,857.81 per ETH.
In line with its “Alchemy of 5%” objectiveestation, which seeks to secure 5 % of Ethereum’s 120.68 million circulating supply, Bitmine has moderated its Ether purchases. To date, the company holds 5,777,468 ETH, amounting to nearly 4.8 arnermut of the global supply.
Despite already investing $19.44 billion in Ether, the overall value of Bitmine’s holdings remains below its all‑time average purchase price of $3,364.64 per coin. Nevertheless, by acquiring the asset at its current discounted levels, the firm has reduced its unrealized losses from over $9 billion earlier in July to approximately $8.72 billion at present.
Common Share Repurchase
While augmenting its Ethereum treasury, Bitmine also executed a share‑repurchase of 5.5 million BMNR common shares at an average price of $15.62 per share. The buyback aligns with the company’s previously authorized $4 billion share‑repurchase program, and Lee highlighted that the transaction is accretive to shareholder value.
To unlock the full potential of its Ether holdings, Bitmine has staked more than 85 % of its portfolio—4,917,189 ETH—across its proprietary MAVAN (Made in America Validator Network) platform and partners. Lee forecasts that this staking activity alone will generate an annualized passive income of $247 million.
Bitmine’s Total Portfolio
Bitmine’s diversified portfolio includes 207 BTC, a $180 million investment in Beast Industries, a $58 million stake in Eightco Holdings (ORBS), Tune, , and a cash and marketable securities balance of $385 million.
