Blake Monroe has revealed the reasons behind her abrupt exit from WWE Smackdown earlier this week, in which she interrupted and attacked her opponent Giulia before their scheduled match. As is widely known, Monroe assaulted Giulia mid-event and delivered a Neutralizer to take her out. Following this incident, she left the ring and the arena empty-handed.
In a video uploaded to the official WWE Twitter account, Monroe explained why she felt compelled to make such a drastic decision. According to her, she refused to make her debut in WWE under the circumstances she faced. She emphasized that Chelsea Green, the current and injured Women’s Champion, should have been involved in her first match instead.
“That wasn’t my debut,” Monroe said while walking backstage. “I waited for four months after being called up to Smackdown, and after a total of nine years in the wrestling business, I wasn’t going to allow my debut to be determined by such an outcome.”
Monroe continued, “I am a world-class athlete worthy of battling high-level competitors. Until Chelsea Green is in a position to defend her title, don’t expect me to engage with anyone else.”
It remains unclear when Monroe will debut in the ring again. Chelsea Green, meanwhile, faces a 23-day window to recover and defend the Women’s Championship before the title situation is reevaluated.
