“Cole is a diligent, dependable two‑way forward who plays the game the right way, displays outstanding character, and continues to develop,” said Columbus general manager Don Waddell. “He has logged significant ice time at a young age, and we are enthusiastic about his future contributions to the organization.”
Sillinger filed for arbitration on July 5; the date of his hearing has not been announced.
Selected by Columbus with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, Sillinger has accumulated 140 points — 51 goals and 89 assists — in 367 regular‑season games.
Blue Jackets goaltender Jet Greaves also avoided arbitration after agreeing to a three‑year, $15 million contract with Columbus on Thursday, which carries a $5 million average annual value.
