Crown Castle Inc. (CCI), a provider of wireless communications infrastructure, announced late Monday that it has appointed Kris Hinson as chief financial officer, effective April 1, 2027.
Hinson, currently executive vice president and chief commercial officer, will succeed Sunit Patel, who has chosen to retire as executive vice president and CFO effective March 31, following the filing of the company’s 2026 Form 10-K.
The company also said Cathy Piche, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will step down from her role effective September 23. Piche will serve as a special adviser during the transition and leave Crown Castle on February 22 after more than 15 years with the company to pursue other opportunities.
Crown Castle has begun a search for Piche’s replacement.
Hinson has led Crown Castle’s investor- and customer-facing teams. He previously served as the company’s primary investor contact in his role as vice president of corporate finance and treasurer.
Before joining Crown Castle, Hinson spent 13 years at ExxonMobil Corp., where he held several finance leadership positions.
Crown Castle shares rose 0.38% to $74.45 in after-hours trading on the New York Stock Exchange, after closing Monday’s regular session 1.92% lower.
