Booker T commends WWE’s decision to place Baron Corbin directly into a championship match upon his return, viewing it as a strategic advantage for both Corbin and Trick Williams. During an appearance on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T emphasized the immediacy of this booking, stating, “We’re not going to linger. Let’s put him in a position.”

Corbin, who had been inactive since rejoining WWE, was thrust into a United States Championship challenge against Trick Williams at SummerSlam without prior match experience. Booker T praised Corbin’s professionalism during his hiatus, noting, “He left. He went out there. I don’t think I heard Baron Corbin say anything about WWE while he was out. He just worked his way back. Now, someone realizes this dude is an asset.”

The podcast host highlighted Corbin’s versatility as a wrestler, describing him as “that Swiss Army knife” who could adapt to any booking. He further commended Corbin’s resilience, stating, “If he’s loyal, he’ll give you his shirt or hit someone in the mouth—he’s a real deal.”

Booker T framed the SummerSlam match as a learning opportunity for Williams, noting, “Trick’s my boy. He can’t help but learn from someone like Baron, who’s a student of the game.” He also addressed the unique crowd dynamic, predicting, “When Baron is announced, they’ll hate. But when the trumpets sound, they’ll go nuts for Trick. That’s the match we want.”

Having experienced both sides of divided crowds, Booker T expressed confidence in the match’s execution. “We know what the people are going to do. Let’s give them a hell of a night and leave them wanting more,” he advised.

As a WWE Radio commentator for SummerSlam, Booker T will provide insight into the match, adding, “I’m looking forward to calling it.”
