The word “process” has become something of a mantra for Scotland’s head coach and his squad in recent days.
Yet there is genuine substance behind the repetition.
Pocognoli is introducing a significantly revised tactical framework compared to his predecessor, accompanied by a shift in mentality, while gradually integrating several new faces into the setup.
It’s still early for the Belgian coach, his team, and Bowie alike, but the player currently on loan at Sassuolo feels the momentum building and sees this as his chance to leave a lasting impression.
“It’s a much longer international break,” he noted. “We’re together more often, which helps him communicate his vision clearly. Plus, we play more matches, so training time is naturally reduced.”
“For me personally, it’s a fresh beginning with a new coach and fresh ideas.”
As someone who made his Rovers debut at 16, Bowie added: “People, especially Scottish supporters, may still picture me as I was during my Hibernian days, and that’s what they remember.”
“But since moving to Serie A, I’ve found a different league and faced new challenges, gaining valuable experience at a higher level of competition.”
“So yes, I believe I’ve stepped things up a level and I’m starting to demonstrate that clearly.”
