Bradford City have named former Wycombe Wanderers manager Michael Duff as their new head coach on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
The 48-year-old succeeds Graham Alexander at Valley Parade, following Alexander’s move to Championship club Preston North End.
Duff, whose previous stints include Cheltenham Town, Barnsley, Swansea City and Huddersfield Town, was dismissed by Wycombe Wanderers after just one season in charge.
Bradford City, nicknamed the Bantams, sit second in League One with 16 points, level with leaders Plymouth Argyle, who have played one extra match.
They will visit League Two side Rotherham in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday at 19:00 BST, a fixture Duff must observe from the stands due to a one-match touchline ban incurred during his tenure at Wycombe.
His debut in the dugout is scheduled for Saturday’s home league match against Leyton Orient, kicking off at 15:00 BST.
“It’s exciting to be here. The move came together quickly, and given the club’s current position and succeeding someone I know and respect, this is a fantastic opportunity,” Duff said on the club’s website., external
“The playing style is already established here. Continuity matters greatly, and I prefer not to overhaul it merely for the sake of change.”
“It’s been a whirlwind week, but seeing the environment I’ll be working in really gets the juices flowing.”
“Opportunities like this don’t come along often, and joining a club of Bradford City’s stature is one not to be passed up.”
“It didn’t take much convincing; after our first talks, we found a shared vision and everything fell into place quickly.”
