Brendan Sorsby’s college career has concluded after two seasons at Indiana and two at Cincinnati, and he will not be suiting up for Texas Tech.
He plans to drop the lawsuit filed in Lubbock County, Texas, which had granted him a temporary injunction restoring his NCAA eligibility for the 2026 season, and then submit an application for the NFL supplemental draft.
Cody Campbell, chairman of Texas Tech’s Board of Regents, along with President Lawrence Schovanec and Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt, issued statements on behalf of the university. Sorsby has also shared his own statement on social media.
“I am grateful for the support from my family, my Texas Tech coaching staff, teammates, the community, and many others who have encouraged me to confront and learn from this important issue,” Sorsby wrote. “As my journey continues, I remain fully committed to and focused on being the best I can be both on and off the field.”
The statement, however, offers little detail, leaving many questions unanswered.
