Four years prior, in Florida, Epstein had been incarcerated after pleading to two counts of soliciting prostitution, one involving a minor.
Andriesz believed additional evidence within the Epstein documents could substantiate his assertions, provided researchers knew how to navigate the vast 3.5 million-page archive.
“The prevailing search term was ‘Lutnick’,” he notes. However, he was aware that Cantor Fitzgerald executives typically used initials rather than full names in their email correspondence.
By searching for “HWL” (Howard William Lutnick), Andriesz uncovered 2018 emails exchanged with Epstein. The two discussed Adfin, a digital advertising firm jointly backed by Epstein and Lutnick’s company, Cantor Fitzgerald.
Andriesz identified communicationexternal in which Epstein directly queried the HWL account: “what do you think the prospects for adfin are?”
Lutnick replied: “Producing revenue finally. This is their year. Next 12 months they need to become economically self-sufficient.”
Andriesz subsequently relayed these findings to members of the US House Oversight Committee, the primary investigative body of Congress.
Lutnick consented to testify before the committee in a closed-door session held in May.
He has faced no allegations of misconduct related to Epstein. In his testimony, he stated: “I unequivocally condemn the conduct attributed to Jeffrey Epstein and everyone who participated in his illegal activities. The survivors of his crimes deserve our respect and support.”
