The Broncos have developed a knack for winning tight contests.
Denver has now won 16 consecutive games decided by a single score, with Bo Nix starting at quarterback for every victory.
According to NBC Sports research, this streak matches the 2023-24 Kansas City Chiefs—led by Patrick Mahomes—for the longest such run since 1950.
The Broncos’ last one-score loss came in Week 3 of the 2025 season, a 23-20 defeat at the Chargers. Since that game, Denver has won every one-score contest it has played.
Despite being consistently outgained this season, the Broncos have found a way to win. They currently rank third-worst in the NFL with a yardage differential of minus-658, yet they’ve already secured three 2026 victories despite being outgained by 100 or more yards.
The seasonal record for one-score wins stands at four, achieved by eight different franchises. With two more victories this year, the Broncos would claim the record outright.
The Broncos’ next chance to extend the streak arrives Sunday at Carolina, a rematch of Super Bowl 50.
