Firefighters are working to contain a brush fire near the train tracks in Ness Ziona, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority said on Sunday morning.
The fire’s proximity to the tracks has caused temporary suspension of train services between Lod, Rehovot, and Ashkelon stations, as well as between Lod and Rishon Lezion stations.
Firefighters are coordinating with Israel Railways to control the blaze and safeguard the track infrastructure.
This incident marks the fourth fire in the region within the past two days.
The initial blaze occurred at Gilad Farm in the West Bank, prompting police to evacuate residents and block part of Highway 55; the fire was later brought under control, resulting in two firefighters being moderately injured, one lightly, and several residents treated for smoke inhalation, according to Ynet.
Additional fires erupted in northern Israel, including the Jezreel Valley near Vradim and a third near Mount Tabor close to Shibli.
All three northern fires were eventually contained, and authorities are investigating possible arson in the Jezreel Valley incident, Israeli public broadcaster KAN News reported.
Ruby Sadikman, Alon Hachmon, and Moshe Cohen contributed to this report.
