BTS, the groundbreaking global boy band that helped bring K‑pop to a worldwide audience, resumed performances in Las Vegas over the Memorial Day weekend.
Comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J‑Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, the seven‑member group sold out four consecutive nights at Allegiant Stadium as part of the Arirang World Tour. Their Las Vegas debut took place on Saturday, May 23, with additional shows scheduled for May 27 and 28. The stadium had last hosted BTS in 2022 during the Permission to Dance concerts, which were limited by pandemic restrictions.
The demand for tickets mirrored the enthusiasm seen four years earlier, with crowds gathering well before the Sunday night performance. Inside the arena, fans brandished ARMY Bomb lightsticks, creating a roar that approached deafening levels. Queue lines stretched across the parking lot, and every seat in the venue was occupied.
The Sunday concert ran just over two hours, featuring a sophisticated production and standout performances. Highly anticipated, the tour promotes Arirang, the group’s first album in several years. Like many young Korean men, the members have been fulfilling mandatory military service, each serving at least 18 months. Yet onstage, their energy belies the recent hiatuses.
Much like its namesake album, the Arirang tour is steeped in Korean cultural elements. While BTS has faced criticism for being overly Westernized, the production showcases traditional Korean music, a tribute to the national flag, and a 360‑degree pavilion modeled after Gyeonghoeru in Gyeongbokgung Palace. These details underscore how the group’s heritage is woven throughout every aspect of the show.
Opening with “Hooligan” from Arirang, the concert was staged in the round. Although the 2021‑2022 tour marked a retrospective of their career, the Arirang setlist leaned heavily toward newer material, targeting fans who have embraced the latest album.

Beyond Arirang tracks, the setlist featured longtime hits such as “Fake Love,” “Mic Drop,” and “Idol,” as well as pandemic-era English singles “Butter” and “Dynamite.” Additionally, the group surprised the audience with “Black Swan” from the 2020 chart‑topping album Be and a 2014 fan favorite, “Spinebreaker.”

A standout moment was the debut of the new track “FYA,” seamlessly blended into the iconic “Fire,” creating a unique mashup that could only be experienced live.
Fans such as 21‑year‑old Natalie Nuntapreda journeyed from outside Nevada to attend the concert. A decade‑long admirer, she arrived with a group from Utah. “I love their dancing because I’m a dancer,” she explained, adding that the diverse talents and styles of the members make the performance thrilling.
Anticipating a global fanbase, Hybe, the parent company of BTS’s label BigHit Music, launched another “BTS The City” activation. The group transformed the cityscape with a red palette inspired by Arirang, building on a similar activation from 2022 but expanding its scale.
Fireworks illuminated the MGM Grand on Saturday night, marking the start of the weekend. V humorously referenced the display during Sunday’s concert, noting that the noise kept him awake until he realized it was emanating from the group’s own celebration.
In partnership with Visit Las Vegas, the Strip was bathed in red at 11 p.m. local time, showcasing a billboard that read “Las Vegas Welcomes BTS.” The nearby Sphere also displayed Arirang graphics on its rotating screens.

The City also featured a variety of retail, dining, and cultural activations, including BTS‑themed menus, after‑party events at nearby nightclubs, a BTS exhibit at the Arte Museum Las Vegas, and a red‑lit “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign honoring the group.
BTS is scheduled to appear at the American Music Awards on May 25, an appearance announced earlier in the week. This will mark the group’s first award‑show performance in four years, with nominations for Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best Male K‑Pop Artist.
