- MEXC has teamed up with Bybit EU to provide a seamless migration path for its users onto a MiCA‑compliant cryptocurrency platform.
- Users are advised to transfer all assets to Bybit EU by 31 October.
MEXC ranks among the principal entities affected by the European Union’s comprehensive implementation of the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework. Dutch regulators identified the Seychelles‑registered exchange as early as September 2025.
The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) explicitly warned that MEXC was operating without the required authorization and license, and accordingly listed it on the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) register of non‑compliant crypto‑related entities.
Consequently, MEXC scaled back its operations and ultimately halted crypto activities on 1 July, the deadline marking the end of MiCA’s grace period for firms that did not adopt the new rules. To facilitate an orderly transition for its users, MEXC partnered with Bybit EU, a fully regulated crypto platform operated by the Bybit Group within the European Economic Area.
MEXC Advises Users to Use Bybit EU
MEXC advises Dutch users to consider Bybit EU, which obtained MiCA authorization from Austria’s Financial Market Authority (FMA) in May 2025. The platform also provides a broad portfolio of products and services tailored to diverse customer needs.
First, Bybit EU enables direct euro deposits and withdrawals through the Dutch payment system iDEAL and the SEPA framework, significantly simplifying onboarding and offboarding for local traders. This also leverages MiCA’s passporting provisions, allowing funds to be transferred swiftly, securely, and efficiently across the eurozone.
Bybit EU offers access to over 115 tokens across 135 spot trading pairs in euros and US dollars, providing Dutch investors with extensive exposure to curated digital assets that comply with the stringent consumer protection standards of the Netherlands and the EU.
MiCA forbids the commingling of client funds with the firm’s reserves and operational assets, thereby safeguarding users’ assets against insolvency and operational losses.
Finally, Bybit EU provides dedicated Dutch‑language support, offering native‑language assistance and customized solutions for local inquiries and account issues.
Benefits for Users Transitioning to Bybit EU
MEXC and Bybit EU remind customers that migration is not automatic; users must manually create and verify accounts.
The partners have rolled out a “dedicated transition package” for seamless onboarding, which includes preferential fees for migrating MEXC users and Bybit Card cashback as an extra incentive.
MEXC and Bybit EU advise affected users to complete asset transfers by October 31 to avoid inconvenience before MEXC’s final offboarding on November 16 this year.
