Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has been activated from the 10-day injured list, ending his first career stint on the IL due to a right oblique strain.

Raleigh last played on May 13 and will return to the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. The 29-year-old backstop has batted .161 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs in 41 games this season.

Despite the slow start, Raleigh comes off one of the most outstanding seasons by a catcher in MLB history. He finished second in AL MVP voting in 2025, hitting a franchise-record 60 homers with 125 RBIs while winning the Silver Slugger Award and starting the All-Star Game.

Raleigh, entering his sixth big-league season, also became the first catcher to win the Home Run Derby.

The Mariners also activated shortstop J.P. Crawford (right hand contusion) and optioned catcher Jhonny Pereda to Triple-A Tacoma.

Crawford, 31, sustained the hand injury when Detroit Tigers pitcher Framber Valdez struck him with a pitch on June 5. He’s hitting .228 with 10 homers and 23 RBIs in 55 games this season and is in his eighth year with Seattle.

Pereda, 30, was hitting .270 with two homers and four RBIs in 19 games with the Mariners. He gained attention in May 2025 for striking out Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Shohei Ohtani during a start for the Athletics in a blowout loss.
