A Delaware judge has scheduled March 2028 for the trial of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s $787 million defamation lawsuit against Fox News.
If the case is not settled, dismissed or abandoned before the trial date, it is expected to proceed during the 2028 U.S. presidential primary season. Most states will hold their primaries on Super Tuesday, March 7, 2028. Newsom, a Democrat, has said he is considering a presidential run.
