Sig Network has partnered with Cardano’s (ADA) Midnight sidechain to bring its privacy-focused programmable applications to the Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem. The integration provides Midnight with a smart contract that holds a direct account on Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake network.

Liquidity Unclogged: Sig Network Solves Migration Problems

For blockchain developers, rebuilding and redeploying applications on a privacy-centric chain typically presents significant hurdles. Specific configurations can be time-consuming to implement, and migration often risks leaving established user bases and on-chain liquidity behind.

Sig’s infrastructure addresses this challenge by allowing applications to remain on Ethereum while placing private logic and user records on Midnight. The sidechain effectively functions as a privacy layer that existing applications can access without a full migration.

The mechanism operates through a three-step process. First, a compact circuit validates the user’s request, burns their shielded claim, and queues a single Ethereum transaction. Next, a threshold of independent chain signers produces a standard Ethereum Layer-1 signature. Finally, the transaction executes from the contract’s account, and the outcome is attested back to Midnight to update the user’s balance. No assets are bridged or wrapped, reducing fees and maintaining a seamless user experience.

Cardano’s Founder Weighs In: Why Private Connection Is Key

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson endorsed the development, welcoming Ethereum to the Midnight Network. He has consistently emphasized that Midnight’s design prioritizes interoperability as heavily as privacy, a stance that has generated significant community enthusiasm.

Cardano (ADA) price action remains at a critical juncture as bulls defend key support levels while traders assess the potential for a bullish recovery. Meanwhile, Midnight’s native NIGHT token experienced a 3.3% daily decline, maintaining a position within the top 100 assets with a market capitalization of $646,858,207.

As the privacy coin sector expands in 2026, established leaders like Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC) continue to dominate. However, Cardano’s Midnight holds a distinct advantage for institutional adoption: its privacy features are optional, making the platform more appealing to corporations navigating regulatory compliance.
