Gossip blogger Tasha K has agreed to pay Cardi B $60,000 following a legal battle over violations of a prior court ruling regarding online disparagement.
The settlement, filed Tuesday and reported by Rolling Stone, indicates that both parties reached the resolution to avoid the costs, delays, and uncertainty of continued litigation. This conflict is an extension of Cardi B’s 2022 defamation victory, in which she was awarded $4 million against Latasha Kebe. At that time, Cardi B agreed to postpone the collection of the full judgment on the condition that Kebe cease all denigrating remarks toward the artist and her family.
However, legal representatives for Belcalis Almánzar (Cardi B) asserted that Kebe ignored these warnings, specifically citing recent social media posts concerning the rapper’s estranged husband, Offset, and NFL star Stefon Diggs.
In a motion filed in April, the rapper’s legal team requested “economically painful” sanctions against the UnWineWithTashaK host. Attorneys described a “cat and mouse” dynamic over the past year, claiming they have had to constantly monitor Kebe’s social media, documenting over two dozen “egregious violations” of the non-disparagement clause.
The April filing alleged that Kebe believes she is “above the law” and “invulnerable,” noting that she has openly admitted in broadcasts her intent to resume the harassment of Almánzar once her current debts are settled.
According to the terms of Tuesday’s agreement, Kebe must pay $30,000 within 28 days of the court order, with the remaining balance due by December 31. If Kebe fails to meet these deadlines, Cardi B may issue a written notice of default. If the payment is not made within five days of that notice, the rapper is entitled to seek the full award of $110,115.
Representatives for both Almánzar and Kebe did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
