Career Transition: Karl Warner Takes a New Global Role at BBC Studios
BBC Studios is appointing Karl Warner to a strategic Global Formats position in Los Angeles, expanding his leadership in international television innovation.

The forthcoming assignment sees Warner relocate to the United States, where he will join an EVP role focused on creator-led intellectual property and digital development. His responsibilities will center on bridging the UK and U.S. creative ecosystems, with direct reporting to production leader Zai Bennett.

Previously serving as the Executive Vice President of UK Entertainment and Digital Development at BBC Studios, Warner brings extensive experience in scaling creator-driven projects and fostering partnerships. His new role emphasizes identifying cutting-edge IP opportunities and adapting successful formats worldwide.

The move aligns with BBC Studios’ broader strategy, closely collaborating with TalentWorks and its chief Helen O’Donnell to strengthen global content creation.

BBC Studios Entertainment Productions’ Suzy Lamb has confirmed overlapping responsibilities with Warner, as the partnership will unite creative stewardship across international markets.

Warner’s background extends to his recent work at Channel 4, where he led youth division initiatives and leveraged production expertise in both U.S. and digital media environments.

Bennett highlighted the strategic importance of this appointment, stating that together, Suzy and Karl will drive creative momentum and strengthen engagement with the evolving creator economy.
