Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio confirmed that the trade acquiring wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals was finalized on Friday evening.
Speaking on 95.7 The Fan in Houston, as reported by Cole Thompson of USA Today, Caserio stated the agreement was fully in place before the weekend, though the Cardinals preferred to delay the official announcement until Sunday.
Caserio also dismissed speculation that the deal was contingent on the Texans’ result against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. “What happened in the game had zero bearing on the outcome,” Caserio said. “We’re not going to agree to something and then see what happens in a game and then back out of it.”
The timeline clarifies initial reports which indicated Harrison was being traded but did not immediately identify the destination. According to Caserio, the transaction was completed Friday night, with partial details emerging Saturday morning.
