CD Projekt Red Reveals First Glimpse of The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past Soundtrack

A new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to release next year, and CD Projekt Red has officially shared the first preview of its musical score.

The Wild Hunt remaster is launching tomorrow (September 29), preceding the upcoming Songs Of The Past expansion, which is slated for a future release next year. The soundtrack for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs Of The Past features original composer Marcin Przybyłowicz alongside new contributors Magda Urbańska and Daniel Elms. A five-track promotional EP is currently available for streaming.

“Composing music for Songs Of The Past was an incredibly exciting experience for me, yet it also carried a profound sense of responsibility,” Urbańska stated. “I distinctly recall the first time I heard the music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—it shook me to the core. That score was extraordinary then, and it remains extraordinary today.”

“I have dedicated most of my life to classical music, but folk music demands an entirely different sensibility—it possesses its own tone and form while providing immense creative freedom. However, our roots and Slavic heritage transcend that; they run deep within us and define who we are. I trust we have successfully preserved The Witcher essence in these compositions.”

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered updates the open-world RPG with a comprehensive array of visual, performance, and gameplay enhancements. The Hearts Of Stone and Blood And Wine expansions have also been updated to reflect these improvements.

The paid Songs Of The Past expansion, arriving next year, will introduce the entirely new region of Letten. “This idyllic land is steeped in rural tradition and folklore, where its people enjoy a fulfilling life of plentiful harvests and grand festivals. Yet, a dark secret lies just beneath the surface, and Geralt must confront unprecedented adversaries to vanquish its long-dormant evil,” reads a press release.

The final season of Netflix’s The Witcher series, originally slated for release this year, has been quietly delayed until 2027.
