CDF Munir vows lasting peace in Balochistan

In Rawalpindi, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir stated on Thursday that the sustained efforts of security forces and law‑enforcement agencies, bolstered by public support, would secure lasting peace in Balochistan.

Speaking at the 20th National Workshop on Balochistan held at General Headquarters, he warned, per an Inter‑Services Public Relations release, that foreign‑backed proxies continued to provoke violence, erode stability and disturb peace in the province.

“Their malign intentions, however, will be thwarted by the armed forces’ firm and decisive action, backed by the resilience and unity of the Pakistani people,” he added.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to dismantle terrorist infrastructure wherever it threatens the nation and its citizens.

He reiterated that operations against Fitna al‑Khawarij and Fitna al‑Hind will proceed with full resolve until terrorism and its accomplices are eradicated from Pakistan.

During the session, the field marshal portrayed Balochistan as Pakistan’s pride, rich in natural resources and inhabited by vibrant, resilient, patriotic citizens who constitute the province’s greatest asset.

He noted that ongoing federal and provincial development projects aim to reshape Balochistan’s socioeconomic landscape through an inclusive, people‑centric strategy.

He praised the constructive contributions of civil society, academia, the media and youth in fostering national unity and advancing Balochistan’s long‑term peace and prosperity.

He also stressed the importance of national unity and perseverance in shaping the country’s future direction.
