Employers can access toolkits with strategies for demonstrating their commitment to Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers by:
- publicly pledging 5 days of paid volunteering leave for employees who volunteer as Cadet Force Adult Volunteers
- sharing the pledge on social media using the hashtag #NationalCadetsWeek and tagging @MinistryOfDefence across socials
- updating your website to show your support and any related activity you’re conducting
- incorporating this commitment into job advertisements to highlight your support for community volunteering
Get involved as a teacher
Teachers can participate in National Cadets Week through various educational initiatives and community engagement activities.
Each day during National Cadets Week features a different focus, providing multiple ways to engage:
- Monday 5 October: Launch of the Cadets Action Plan, outlining how cadets will achieve the government’s goal of a 30% increase in Cadets by 2035.
- Tuesday 6 October: Employers and teachers can have pupils or employees present on their cadet experiences to raise awareness.
- Wednesday 7 October: Opportunity to express gratitude to volunteers who have made a significant impact.
- Thursday 8 October: Cadet units nationwide will host family and friends for first aid training sessions.
- Friday 9 October: Launch of the business framework designed to better support cadet programs.
- Saturday 10 October: Open Days across the UK featuring unit showcases and activities.
