England are sweating on the fitness of Nico O’Reilly and Ezri Konsa ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Nations League encounter with Czechia at the Fortuna Arena. Both players sat out Monday’s group session at Tottenham Hotspur’s training base, instead following individual recovery programmes.

The duo featured for the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Spain at Wembley. O’Reilly marked his full debut by registering his first senior assist, delivering a pinpoint cross for Harry Kane’s header.

Should O’Reilly fail to recover, Lewis Hall is poised to deputise at left-back. The Newcastle United defender has not appeared for the Three Lions since the March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

In central defence, Thomas Tuchel has Jarrad Branthwaite, Jarell Quansah and Trevor Chalobah available should Konsa be ruled out. Quansah operated at right-back against Spain, Branthwaite earned his maiden cap, and Chalobah remained an unused substitute.

Tuchel is still expected to field a strong XI as England seek to revive their quarter-final hopes. Beyond the injury concerns, the head coach must decide whether to recall Jude Bellingham and whether to deploy Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back instead of Quansah.

Tuesday’s fixture in Prague opens a testing double-header on the road; England travel to face Croatia on Saturday before hosting the return leg against Czechia at Wembley next week.
