Celebrating South Sudan’s 15th Independence Anniversary

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend congratulations to the people of South Sudan as you mark the 15th anniversary of your independence.

The United States has supported the South Sudanese people long before the 2011 independence, working alongside religious organizations, civil society groups, and grassroots movements to foster a peaceful and prosperous future.
