WWE Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green is navigating a complex chapter in her title reign, balancing a recent celebration with a significant injury setback.

Green shared photos from a trip to Disney World on Sunday, posing with the WWE Women’s Championship alongside her husband, Matt Cardona. She captioned the post, “Gonna tell my kids this was my fave Disney Princess.”

The celebratory moment was quickly overshadowed by a serious injury sustained during the August 7 episode of WWE SmackDown. Green suffered a broken orbital bone while teaming with Tiffany Stratton against Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match.

Despite the severity of the injury, WWE reportedly has no plans to strip Green of the interim championship. She is expected to remain involved in programming during her recovery, with the company building a storyline around her title situation on SmackDown.

Nick Aldis Grants Chelsea Green 30-Day Extension on WWE SmackDown

During last week’s WWE SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis initially informed Green she would be required to surrender the Interim Women’s Championship. An emotional Green detailed the sacrifices made throughout her career.

Aldis ultimately reversed the decision, granting Green a 30-day window to recover. He mandated that she secure a protective face mask before returning to defend the title.

The segment escalated when World Heavyweight Champion Gunther confronted Green, prompting Matt Cardona to intervene in support of his wife. The confrontation led to an impromptu match involving Cardona.

For the time being, Chelsea Green retains the Interim WWE Women’s Championship, with WWE signaling a commitment to continuing her reign through the recovery period.
