Chelsea are willing to lower their valuation for Manchester City target Malo Gusto after securing the signing of Marco Verratti.
Gusto has served as Reece James‘s understudy at right-back over the past few seasons, but his future has become uncertain following Verratti’s arrival. Manchester City are reportedly interested in the French international, and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is said to be keen on reuniting with him.
An earlier report suggested Chelsea sought at least £75 million for Gusto’s exit, but the club has since eased their stance. Having invested approximately £50 million in Verratti from Atalanta, Chelsea may now accept a comparable package to facilitate Gusto’s departure. The former Lyon defender is currently participating in France’s World Cup campaign but has directed his representatives to explore transfer opportunities. Alongside Gusto, Chelsea may also consider offers for midfielder Andrey Santos, with Manchester United leading efforts to secure the Brazilian talent.
