Chelsea have raised their asking price for striker Liam Delap to £50 million, expecting a competitive bidding battle among Premier League suitors.
The Englishman has been deemed surplus to requirements by the west London giants and is expected to depart Stamford Bridge before the transfer window shuts on September 1.
While Serie A club Como were previously reported as keen on securing the former Ipswich Town forward for around £40 million, Delap’s representatives have stated a clear preference for a Premier League move. Everton have long shown interest, and they have now been joined in the pursuit by Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.
With multiple clubs vying for his signature, Chelsea are prepared to hold out for the full £50 million valuation. Delap has already been separated from the main squad in training, and his departure now appears imminent as the deadline day approaches.
