Chelsea are set to intensify their pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as the winter transfer window approaches.
After selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City last summer, the Blues searched for a marquee midfield signing.
Monaco’s Lamine Camara was on the verge of joining on deadline day, but the French club reversed their decision at the final moment.
Chelsea are unlikely to revive interest in the Senegalese talent this winter, instead turning their attention to securing Scott from the Cherries.
A £68m bid for Scott was rejected in the summer, and the club is prepared to launch another attempt for his services in January.
Bournemouth are open to selling him as his contract expires in June 2028 and he has no plans to agree a new deal.
The Cherries value him at around £100m, but Chelsea believe they can negotiate a deal in the region of £90m.
Scott also prefers a move to Chelsea over Liverpool.
