Last month, goth-folk artist Chelsea Wolfe became the face of a new paranormal-themed perfume called Ghosts, perfectly aligning with her signature aesthetic. Around the same time, Wolfe revealed two new songs, “Death Is Not The End” and “The Dark.” Now, both tracks are confirmed to appear on her upcoming album of the same name, set for release next month.
Following her collaboration with TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek on 2024’s She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, Wolfe has teamed up with Jennifer Decilveo—known for her work with Andra Day and Hozier—to co-produce The Dark. Wolfe describes the record as featuring “a lot of guitar” and incorporating “rock moments.” The project also includes contributions from Queens Of The Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Nine Inch Nails associates Justin Medal-Johnsen and Robin Finck, alongside Ben Chisolm.
Today, Wolfe releases “Cold,” the hauntingly inviting opening track from the album. The accompanying seance-themed video was directed by Magdalena Wosinska. View it below.
