“We are personally monitoring the project every Sunday because Karachiites deserve a modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport system,” he remarked.
Mr Shah directed contractors to augment manpower and equipment wherever necessary and instructed all utility agencies to coordinate closely with TransKarachi and FWO to ensure relocation work proceeds without unnecessary delays. He also emphasized improved traffic management and public facilitation during construction, directing officials to minimize commuter inconvenience and enforce appropriate safety measures at all active sites.
He also inspected the Azeempura Flyover construction site and confirmed its scheduled opening on June 15.
Officials informed the chief minister that the flyover is projected to substantially alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity from Azeempura to the Malir Halt‑Korangi Road corridor, thereby reducing strain on Sharea Faisal and adjacent roadways.
The chief minister also visited Shahrah‑i‑Bhutto to assess security and traffic management arrangements, directing the Additional IG Karachi to establish police checkpoints at every interchange along the route.
Mr Shah further mandated the immediate activation of the e‑challan system, the enforcement of a 100 km/h speed limit, seat‑belt regulations, and warned that violations of wrong‑way driving would not be tolerated.
