Chyna apparently had a relationship with a WWE Hall of Famer before her well-known romance with Triple H.
Since making her WWE debut, Chyna has been a standout figure in professional wrestling. Known for her impressive muscularity and physical presence, she initially entered the company serving as Triple H’s bodyguard.
Her unique physique and strength allowed her to compete against male performers, and she notably became the only female member of the D-Generation X faction. Behind the scenes, Chyna and Triple H were a long-term couple before his eventual relationship with Stephanie McMahon led to their breakup. Following her departure from WWE due to contract disputes, speculation has surfaced regarding her dating life prior to her time with Triple H, with reports suggesting she was involved with another major wrestling star.
Claims Suggest Chyna Dated Brutus Beefcake Before Her WWE Fame
During a recent appearance on Monte & The Pharaoh, Barbie Beefcake, the wife of Hall of Famer Brutus Beefcake, revealed that her husband was dating Chyna when they first met. She noted that at the time, the WWE legend was working as a stripper.
“He was dating when I first met him. He was probably [with] a lot of women during, after, and before but he was with Chyna when I met him.
She was nobody at that time. She was just breaking into the business. In fact, she was a stripper.”
When questioned whether she was referring to Chyna’s life before her professional wrestling career, Barbie confirmed the claim, stating she had personally seen photographs of the pair together.
“Yes, and that’s the truth. He has pictures of him and her. Trust me, I know. I’ve seen them.”
Describing Chyna’s appearance during that era, Barbie characterized her as fit and muscular with a provocative style.
“She was a little rough around the edges. She was big—she was always very fit, too fit—and I didn’t see the feminine piece of that. She was very big and dressed sort of provocatively.”
Barbie recounted an instance from when she was dating Brutus and Linda Hogan regarding Chyna, recalling a trip to Disney World where Chyna’s attire was quite revealing.
“I remember one time, when I was first dating Eddie, Linda saying, ‘Thank God I got rid of Chyna’—or Joanie. I wasn’t even going by Chyna I don’t think at that time.
Joanie came to Disney World with us one time dressed probably more stripper-ish. Again, God rest her soul, no ill will. These are just stories I heard. I didn’t see that for my own. But in the pictures, yes, I did see that.”
Barbie suggested that the relationship was kept somewhat private because Chyna was working as a stripper rather than a wrestler at the time.
“I think it was a bit of a secret that those two were dating because she wasn’t into wrestling. She wasn’t a wrestler. She was a stripper, period.
“I think they were in the middle of breaking up, or he wasn’t really a commitment guy then. Again, probably never was, but I thought I was the one—maybe for a little bit.”
Barbie emphasized that these events occurred long before Chyna’s high-profile relationship with Triple H.
“There she is with Triple H, but this was way before that. She had very short hair. Very short.”
