The New Jersey DIY power‑pop trio Classic Traffic, formed in 2022, has quickly amassed a solid discography that includes three full‑length albums and one collaborative covers EP. This fall the band releases its fourth record, Real Music, a title that underscores their no‑nonsense approach to vintage‑inspired pop punk.
Classic Traffic’s sound is a revved‑up homage to ’70s hair‑shaking power pop, built around soaring riffs, catchy hooks and tight harmonies. Listeners who enjoy the gritty energy of groups like Liquid Mike will likely find much to enjoy in their high‑octane tracks. The group’s unconventional workflow features drummer Dante Fotino penning all of the lyrics that singer/guitarist Andy Altadonna delivers, while bassist Dogmeat handles press interactions and quotes.
So much shit is just bullshit. Real music blows your dick back. I know bands are shy about liking their own music, but what’s the point in that? I think our music is fucking awesome.
The lo‑fi video for “My Rage,” the album’s opening track, was directed by Nick Heitman and Beven Barnhart. The song is an energetic, catchy rocker that captures the band’s punchy vibe. Check out the video below, along with the full tracklist and upcoming tour dates.
