It’s been over four years since Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi exited AEW, yet his name still appears in the latest Being The Elite episode.
The opening video for this year’s Stadium Stampede featured Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, and the Hurt Syndicate reconnecting backstage.
During the footage, Omega attempted to smoke a cigar, only to cough up the smoke, clearly unaccustomed to the habit.
On the newest “Being the Elite,” Omega—who follows a straight‑edge lifestyle—referenced a former Elite member’s affinity for cigars without naming him directly, saying,
“We once had a member of the Elite that was all about cigars, I just feel like there’s a hole in my heart.”
Rhodes departed AEW in 2022, and out of mutual respect both parties have kept the precise reasons private.
He made his WWE return at WrestleMania 38 that same year and has since captured the Undisputed WWE Championship three times.
