Qantas has unveiled plans for the world’s longest commercial long-haul route, a direct flight connecting Sydney to London with an estimated travel time of up to 22 hours.
Scheduled to commence in October 2027, the ultra-long-haul service is expected to carry a premium, with passengers paying approximately 20% more than they would for traditional routes involving layovers.
BBC’s Harry Sekulich explored public opinion on the development, questioning whether travelers would be willing to pay a higher fare to avoid connections in exchange for a direct flight.
