The Washington Commanders moved to reinforce their interior defensive line on Wednesday, signing Ricky Barber from the practice squad to the active roster. The transaction comes after the team placed both Javon Kinlaw and Daron Payne on injured reserve with season-ending injuries, leaving a significant void at defensive tackle.
Barber originally joined Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and saw action in two games last season, recording five tackles and a sack. Despite spending the current campaign on the practice squad, he now steps into a critical depth role. Additionally, the Commanders bolstered their practice squad by signing veteran defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale.
