Conor Benn Predicts Lomachenko Will Defeat Gervonta Davis in Anticipated Return

Vasiliy Lomachenko is preparing for his comeback, potentially facing Gervonta Davis, and welterweight contender Conor Benn has expressed his view on how a bout between the two would unfold.

Few boxers have ascended to the pinnacle of the sport as rapidly as Lomachenko, who claimed world titles in his third professional fight, matching the men’s record.

After achieving world championships across three weight classes, the Ukrainian later encountered tougher opposition, losing to both Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney while fighting at lightweight.

Nevertheless, a year after reclaiming the lightweight title with a knockout victory over George Kambosos in May 2024, Lomachenko declared his retirement, finishing with a 18‑3 record.

However, last month the 38‑year‑old confirmed his intention to return, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown with three‑weight champion Gervonta Davis, who has remained unbeaten since June 2024.

In an interview with Daily Mail Sport, Benn said that, should the fight occur now, he would back the veteran, noting that Davis’s recent off‑ring issues appear to have affected his performance in his March 2025 bout with Lamont Roach.

Although fans are eager for Davis to meet Lomachenko, the Ukrainian plans to return in the super‑featherweight division, his natural weight class, and is targeting Mexico’s unified WBO and WBA 130‑lb champion Emanuel Navarrete.
