Cotton futures experienced modest declines of 41 to 90 points on Thursday across most contracts. Crude oil decreased by $2.06 per barrel, while the US dollar index fell by 0.054.
Total Export Sales for the 2025/26 marketing year, ending the week of August 6, amounted to 778,939 RB, with 126,050 RB recorded in new sales. Shipments during this period totaled 208,374 RB. Vietnam emerged as a significant export destination, receiving 60,800 RB, while Pakistan accounted for 13,900 RB in sales.
The Cotlook A Index rebounded on Wednesday, climbing 50 points to 94.95 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 2,977 bales on August 12, reaching a level of 77,764 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 190 points on Thursday, settling at 68.19 cents per pound.
October 2026 Cotton closed at 82.36 cents, reflecting a decrease of 85 points, though it subsequently rose by 69 points. December 2026 Cotton closed at 83.5 cents, down 88 points, with a subsequent increase of 95 points. March 2027 Cotton closed at 85.42 cents, declining by 90 points, followed by an increase of 90 points.
