Recent polling of 1,000 likely Ohio voters shows Senator Sherrod Brown with 48% support, while Republican incumbent Jon Husted trails at 45%. Polymarket odds currently give Brown a 57% chance of victory.
In response to Fairshake’s planned spending, Brown’s campaign shared a press release with CoinDesk, quoting campaign manager Patrick Eisenhauer: “Jon Husted is for sale, and the billionaires and corporations pouring millions into this race know it.”
Before targeting Brown, Fairshake’s second‑largest expenditure was roughly $12 million in the Alabama Senate primary, where it backed Barry Moore’s nomination in a solidly Republican state he is expected to win generally. The third‑largest outlay exceeded $10 million in an unsuccessful effort to block Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton’s Senate primary bid; Stratton is also favored to win the general election.
Fairshake has maintained a bipartisan approach in its candidate support and opposition, but its major contributions have predominantly favored Republicans or opposed Democrats as the Senate balance hangs in the balance this year.
