Crystal Palace has appointed Pierre Sage as its new manager.

Sage, a Frenchman, has signed a deal running through summer 2029, and Crystal Palace agreed to compensate RC Lens to release him from his contract.

The 47‑year‑old was identified as the top candidate after Andoni Iraola took over as Liverpool head coach.

Palace were looking for a new manager after Oliver Glasner decided not to renew his contract, which expires on June 30.

The Austrian guided the club through a highly successful period, securing the FA Cup and following it with a win in the Conference League final in May.
